Ilkley Moors, the promised land of all dogs and nature enthusiasts welcomed us at 6 am with a stunning rosy peachy sunrise. The first Yorkshire model was Stephen, a man of many mysteries. He posed for us on the top of the moors, just west of the Cow and Calf, adorned with heather. Stepping aside from a career in global IT and jetsetting, he’s now ‘digging ditches’ and working with reclaimed wood at a local ecological farm. As Stephen puts it, ‘working in IT and making a wooden chair is really pretty much the same thing’. We lift our caps to Stephen!
The second supermodel to ascend the moors this Wednesday was Jean, a stunning citizen advisor retiree from Bradford. We couldn’t have come to the moors and not work with bracken, it’s everywhere and it’s fantastic, and Jean says it’s also very warm.
Nicholas from the National Museum in Norway is trailing us today and tomorrow, documenting every minute and second of Eyes as Big as Plates in action. Thanks to Lisa and Katie for being premium assistants and thanks to the models for a terrific job.
