Hello summery beings,
We thought it would be nice to share all the shows that we have been working on! Perhaps there is no need for you to even travel anywhere, as we have shimmied works to shows in Finland, France, Belgium, USA, Sweden, Germany, Austria and Norway, from national parks to large scale outdoor exhibits along a stream on the edges of the Austrian Alps.
‘Our Time on Earth’ is open for another week, until the 9th of June 2024 at the Peabody Essex Museum in Massachusetts, USA. All the necessary intel from here.
Brand new works created in collaboration with the UNESCO North Karelia Biosphere Reserve in 2023 are on exhibit on the summit of Koli until the 27th of June. Send us a message if you come to eastern Finland as it is most likely Riitta will be in the neighbourhood and can say hi in person at this gorgeous national park! Opening hours can be found here. This exhibition is extra special as it features works by students from two local schools. The students created portraits of their choice with the Eyes as Big as Plates methodology and we are excited to continue collaborating with young people and schools in the future.
In the end of June Karoline and Riitta will reunite in Harstad, Norway to conduct a multidisciplinary workshop from June 19th to 29th 2024 with NUK-(New Young Art) during the Arctic Arts Festival. Here is more on the project we will be running with Pål Henrik Ekern from the Preus Museum and Ragnhild Gressvik, this year’s co-artistic leader and a dedicated museum educator and curator at Trastad Collections – National Centre for Outsider Art.
‘Les Journandises à Journans’ festival opens on the 24th of May 2024 in France with an outdoors exhibit of Eyes as Big as Plates.
Österängen Kunsthall in Sweden presents ‘The Conference of the Birds’ exhibition which opens 1st of June with much ‘ahoo’ and is open all summer until the 1st of September (scroll down for the English version of the text in the link).
Bærum Kunsthall’s ten-year anniversary show ‘DESTINATION / LOCATION’ opens 6th June right outside of Oslo, Norway and is open all the way until the 1st of September, but heads-up the galleries are closed all July (got to love the long Nordic summer holiday mode).
If you happen to be in Germany, we recommend you head to Kassel to see the exhibition at the Schmagold Galerie opening on June 8th —July 6th 2024. Some of the artists will present their works in person at the exhibition opening on Saturday, June 8 from 10 am to 6 pm. Wolfsschlucht 8a, 34117 Kassel.
We were busy last spring in St.Konrad in Austria producing new works and a show of these newbies opens on June 21st as part of the European Capital of Culture festivities. The opening takes place at 2pm along the stream at the 7-Brücken-Weg between the bathing lake and Gasthof Silbermair where the works have been displayed.
This post turned out quite a bit like an interrail itinerary. Enjoy the meandering paths of these months and we look forward to seeing you and reporting from the Telluride Mushroom festival in Colorado in August!
Mush love,
K&R

All of this news is most welcome and fantastic.
