The 44th Finnskogutstillingen opens this weekend in Svullrya, Norway

We are excited to take part in the 44th Finnskogutstillingen, which opens this Friday! Commissioned as part of the Svullrya development project back in 2019, we roamed the deep forests, wet marshes and floating islands of Finnskogen together with a formidable bouquet of locals. The resulting portraits of Andreas, Einar, Kyrre, Sinikka, Merete and Jan are all part of the project Finnskogen Understories, a series that explores new perspectives on Svullrya as the center of the forest Finnish culture in Eastern Norway, and how these Finnskogen residents experience the current renaissance of the Forest Finnish historical and cultural heritage. For this exhibition, all six works will be on display along with thirteen other Eyes as Big as Plates works.

The exhibition period is famously express style, and is only open for the weekend: Saturday & Sunday 31st May- 1st June, 11-17 pm. Karoline is in the house on Saturday, come and say hi! More info on the Finnskogutstillingen website.
