The Bjørka Foundation is a cornerstone in the development of new art, new artistic careers, and a vital and dynamic field of photographic art in Norway. It was established in 1998 and is run as a non-profit and private foundation by and for visual artists working with camera-based art. Bjørka offers analogue and digital equipment, shared workshops, and studios to its 36 members. The foundation’s purpose is to provide professional artists with sustainable working conditions for their own art production.
Gamle Munch (The former Munch Museum) is a trial project for 2022 – 2025 that aims to examine new uses for the former Munch Museum at Tøyen. The project is a collaboration between the Agency of Cultural Affairs, Oslobygg and Gamle Oslo District.
