We are excited to take part in the 10th Daegu Photo Biennale, which opens in South Korea tomorrow. Bringing together more than 200 artists from more than 30 countries, this year’s biennale celebrates its 20th anniversary with the ecological paradigm of the Symbioscene as a founding concept:
“The question of what it means to be “alive” has long oscillated between biological and philosophical perspectives, drawing the interest of both scientists and philosophers throughout history. Today, the concept of the Symbiocene invites us to reconsider the meaning of life itself through the lens of interdependence among all living beings. From the human to the non-human, from the visible world to supernatural forces, the 10th Daegu Photo Biennale explores the diversity, fragility, and resilience of living things through works that question our relationship with nature and humanity’s place in the cosmos.”
The biennale runs from Sept 18th to Nov 16th, with a packed program of exhibitions, symposiums, photobook exhibitions, portfolio reviews and more.
