Exhibition invites and winter greetings

Holidays are creeping closer and festive spirits firmly rising! For those of you looking for gifts, we are way past the ideal snail mail timing, but in case your  special someone appreciates surprises a little later than the last week of December, we are ready with our best cursive, and can dedicate the book before adding greetings from you.

If you’d like to feast your eyes on some Eyes as Big as Plates works on exhibit and happen to stroll on the streets of Helsinki, Finland, do pop into the Finnish National Gallery ‘Ateneum’ to see their current exhibition A Question of Time.

The show is structured around four themes: The Age of Nature, Images of a People, Modern Life, and Art and Power and features works that are rarely or never displayed as well as light-sensitive watercolours, drawings, and prints, which are rotated every three months.

Pupi, photographed in Kotka on the southern coast of Finland, is among the collections and works on view at Ateneum until February! The exhibition is curated by a lovely team of Timo Huusko, Marja Sakari, Mariia Niskavaara, Anne-Maria Pennonen, Anu Utriainen, and Hanne Selkokari, with exhibition architecture by Esa Vesmanen.

If you’re stateside and skiing oriented, perhaps you pass by Telluride, CO and are lucky to meander to the local public library to see two works from the Eyes as Big as Plates series! The library is known for its eclectic lending program, where you can borrow pretty much anything from books to lawnmowers, hiking poles, sewing machines to mirrorballs. On display are portraits of Art (AKA Shroompa) and Giuliana, the fearless leader of the Fungi Foundation. Both were photographed during the Telluride Mushroom Festival in 2024, alongside Lauren, our trusted force for all things soil and mycoremediation, and Britt, director of Fungi magazine, festival director, and mycologist extraordinaire. A warm welcome to all meandering through the beautiful box canyon in Colorado!
