Printing in progress! High fives and cheerleading moves to the whole team in Sweden, right now in full swing with the cover and field notes section of the Eyes as Big as Plates 2 book! We are beyond excited to share that after much anticipation, the Eyes as Big as Plates 2 book will start rolling through printing machinery in Sweden on November 11th! Book news!

Oslo Negativ 2021

As part of the photography festival Oslo Negativ‘s artist talk series titled “Oslo Negativ Inspirerer”, Karoline will represent the Eyes as Big as Plates duo on stage at 2 pm Norwegian time tomorrow in the beautiful old Deichman library, sharing snippets from the upcoming book! Artist talk tomorrow at Fotografiets Dag / Photography Day 2021

As part of Fotografiets Dag / Photography Day 2021, Eyes as Big as Plates is invited to give an artist talk at Preus Museum in Horten in Norway. We look forward to sharing field notes, process images and snippets from the upcoming book, along with our favourite tips on how to best approach strangers, where to go (and where not to go) hunting for beach cabbage, and how to shoot with medium format cameras in all weather conditions. Back by popular demand: Eyes as Big as Plates returns to Deedee Shattuck Gallery in Westport, Massachusetts!

The Dedee Shattuck Gallery is pleased to reopen with their 2021 inaugural exhibit Eyes as Big as Plates: A Second Look at the Work of Riitta Ikonen & Karoline Hjorth. Visitors to the gallery will recognize these photographs from their 2019 group show, Should We Go Outside? A Nordic Quartet. There will be no formal opening reception for this exhibition, but you are welcome to visit the gallery from tomorrow, 1st of May until 30th of May. Opening hours are Wednesday-Saturday from 10 am – 5 pm and Sundays from 12-5 pm. Welcome!
